Peace Fellowship

Project details

In times when human rights have been violated all around the world, when people are experiencing different types of violence, facing conflicts, discrimination, racism, violent extremism, homophobia, gender inequality, and rising domestic violence, especially during the pandemic, young people often don’t get the chance to have a say in important decisions. Plus, armed conflicts, divided communities, natural disasters, and climate change threaten our basic rights to life, health, food, and decent living.

In this environment, we believe that there’s also a lot of hope. Peace and human rights education, technology and digital tools, and willingness to bring change and create a better, peaceful future can bring us together and boost community education.

Therefore, we are introducing you to the Peace Fellowship project, our biggest effort, until the present moment,  at Youth Peace Ambassadors Network. This project brings together various partner and member organizations of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Network to help them grow stronger and work better together. Throughout this project, we aimed to improve the quality of partnership work and share new ideas through the Peace Fellowship, empowering participants with peace-building tools for their communities.

The Peace Fellowship is a long-long hybrid learning program. It helps partner organizations and Peace Fellows to collaborate, share best practices, and build skills for peaceful transformation.

The objectives of the Peace Fellowship

To increase partner organisations’ capacity and knowledge on; human rights, peace education, conflict management, research methods, and advocacy campaigns.

To allow organisations to boost their cooperation, bring innovative approaches to their work, and increase the quality of their activities through developing the Toolkit of practices and methods of Peace Fellowship.

To gain a better understanding of country-specific human rights issues. Introduce Fellows with existing instruments and  best practices for solving these issues and stir up networking with local and national experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers.

To raise public awareness around human rights issues in local communities through educational activities, advocacy campaigns, and other actions.

The project has a duration of 20 months. It was implemented over the period from November 1, 2022, to June 30, 2024. The project is implemented under the scheme of the Erasmus + KA2 Capacity Building project with the financial support of the German National Agency of Erasmus+.
